- Third Thursday, Chrysler Museum of Art, 5 - 10:00 pm, One Memorial Pl., Norfolk. At the Museum, we host our third annual The Governor’s School for the Arts Fashion Show. This year, the talented students draw their inspiration for their wearable art from our keynote exhibition, “Branding the American West.” The GSA Jazz Band provides the soundtrack for the juried runway show, and the students’ creations will be on view in our Margaret Shepherd Ray Family and Student Gallery (G. 111) through December. At the Perry Glass Studio, Justin Ginsberg goes all in with The Pursuit of Happiness. The Dallas-based artist uses his own nude body and original music in a spinning circle of life that envelopes him in a cocoon of continuous threads of glass. After a long hiatus, we’re pleased to announce the return of JOLIE ROUGE - a medal-winning sour red ale, refermented in Sherry casks with cherries. “Jolie Rouge” refers to the red flag of piracy, which was flown to indicate “no mercy”. A merchant ship (or even a warship) had a simple choice to make upon seeing such a flag: fight to the last man, or pray for a favorable wind and attempt escape. “RUN, RUN AND PRAY FOR THE WIND’S FAVOR.” Jolie Rouge is 8.6% ABV, with prominent oak, fruit, and Sherry barrel character. It will be available on draft and to go in 750ml bottles. There is no bottle limit, but we do not anticipate Jolie Rouge being available outside of the brewery.

- Brew Ridge Trail Takeover, Tap It Local-Chesapeake, 6 - 8:00 pm, 648 Grassfield Parkway Suite 12, Chesapeake. Come try a collaboration beer between the five breweries on the Brew Ridge Trail: South Street, Starr Hill, Blue Mountain, Devils Backbone, and Wild Wolf. In addition, we will have two beers from each brewery on tap. We will have representatives present from each brewery as well as the Brew Ridge Trail, and the World War Commission. “This incredibly special IPA is a collaboration of the breweries on the Brew Ridge Trail. Brewed in honor of those who fought in WWI and WWII, this beer features hops and malts from countries representing our allies in the wars. It is our hope and dream that there are no more wars. So, to that, we toast each and every man and woman who fought for our freedom.”
