You’ve asked for it. Some of you have even begged for it. Now it’s happening. COTU is officially launching into the Hampton Roads area bringing delicious treats such as Pocahoptas IPA, Ray Ray’s Extra Pale Ale and Main St. Virginia Ale. If you are lucky, you might even get a small glimpse of our rare and seasonal lineup featuring Orange is the New Stout, El Duderino, Monkey’s Uncle, and Scotchtown. We heard Hampton Roads likes to party, so we thought a week long party would be in order. See below for an action packed week of meet and greets, steal this, drink that, and an all-around celebration of beer. We are excited, and thirsty. Ready or not, here we come!

Sun, Mar 15 - 48th Annual Saint Patrick’s Day Parade, 10:00 am, Ocean View, Norfolk. Hosted by the Father Robert B. Kealey Council # 3548 of the Knights of Columbus. This fun filled Irish parade has all the marching bands, clowns, floats, cars, and people necessary to make up an exciting and enjoyable parade. Everyone is Irish both in and along the parade route. After the parade come and join us at the Knights of Columbus grounds for live music, food, and fun. There will be a variety of food vendors and live music. This year’s bands will be: The Embers (outside) and Tidewater Drive (inside the Hall). The party is held immediately following the parade and is hosted by The Columbian Club of Ocean View. 211 W. Government Ave, Norfolk, VA. This event is open to the public (21 and up).

The Steel Battalion Series is an ever-changing showcase of creative small-batch beers. It shares the moniker of our brewhouse, the Steel Battalion – a reference to our hometown of Norfolk, VA, home of the world’s largest naval station. It’s a Saison with Keffir Lime, Cardamom, and Green Peppercorns… and boy does it taste like spring! We also debuted Sunken Truck Belgian Strong Dark Ale last Thursday and Winter Champs American Barleywine yesterday. They have become our two highest-rated beers on Untappd. Come get some!

Sun, Mar 1 - Crockpot Sunday! It works like this here: Up to 4 volunteers bring their best crockpot recipe of food to be served starting at 6 pm. Anyone interested can try a serving of each and vote for their favorite. A donation ($3 suggested as a minimum) for the food goes to the charity featured that week. This beer pairs well with brisk Fall weather.
