BIG NEWS!!! Swing by the tasting room this weekend, Friday and Saturday for a special sneak peak of the Ocean front's first brewery. (Friday from 3-10 and Saturday 12-10). This weekend is a soft open only and is open to everyone! We got our license and had beer so the doors are open ! We would love to have everyone come by this weekend to check out the place!
Along with our opening, there is going to be a food truck rodeo directly behind the brewery in the gravel lot from 4:30-8pm on Friday! Local Food, Local Coffee, Local Art, Local Beer, and Local Live Music from Bennett Wales.

Friday, March 28: We'll be releasing a brand new brew - FIRE AT SEA, a Smoked Coffee Porter! FAS is brewed with beech wood smoked malt and dark roast coffee beans, lending roasted, smoky flavors to this robust Porter. 6.5% ABV, 16 IBU. CXB BBQ AND EATS will be on hand starting at 3pm serving up stellar BBQ (which will pair excellently with this new beer!).
Saturday, March 29: Bro's Fish Tacos LLC will be at the brewery, making delicious fresh fish tacos 12-4pm! Cask will be Hammerhead IPA with fresh mango and habanero peppers!
With the addition of Fire At Sea, we'll have 9 beers on tap this weekend: Zephyr, Riptide, Hurricane, Ghost Ship, Hoptopus, Fire At Sea, Diablo Rojo, No Quarter, and Sea Devil Imperial Stout. See you soon!

Wednesday, March 26: Firkin this Wednesday - We will have a special cask-conditioned beer in the tasting room on Wednesday. Alter Ego Saison with cardamom and star anise! Cask ale, or real ale as it is sometimes called, is beer which has not been filtered or pasteurized; it is alive! The beer is transferred straight from the fermenter into the cask along with some priming sugar. The yeast consumes the sugars to produce carbonation and complex flavors. The cask we are using is called a firkin and holds 10.79 gallons of beer. Hope to see you there!

Friday, March 21: New Jr. Coffee Porter Release! - With a name like Porter, a guy’s destiny has to be about beer. Porter’s the fourth good man in his family to carry the name. We’re honoring these gentlemen one-by-one with a uniquely crafted porter, and this year’s nod goes to Porter Hardy, Jr., AKA Grandpop. It features the delicious coffee essence of Marsh Mud, Eastern Shore Coastal Roasting Company’s award-winning cold brew coffee. A mahogany beer with a smooth creamy head, Jr. is chock-full of roastiness from highly kilned wheat and two infusions of Marsh Mud. Its nutty undertones complement Waldorf salad, mushroom risotto or pecan pie. Jamie & Kristen Willis from Eastern Shore Coastal Roasters will be here to christen the new beer on Friday evening. Please come out to meet them! We will also be selling bags of ESCR coffee in the tasting room while this beer is on tap. And there’ll be delicious food from CXB BBQ.

Wednesday, March 19: Firkin this Wednesday - We will have a special cask-conditioned beer in the tasting room on Wednesday. Rule G IPA with Simcoe and Citra hops! Cask ale, or real ale as it is sometimes called, is beer which has not been filtered or pasteurized; it is alive! The beer is transferred straight from the fermenter into the cask along with some priming sugar. The yeast consumes the sugars to produce carbonation and complex flavors. The cask we are using is called a firkin and holds 10.79 gallons of beer. Hope to see you there!

***SHAMROCKIN IN GHENT: Ghent Street Party, Friday, March 14th 6 - 10 P.M. Colley Avenue in Ghent.
Tis the luck of the Irish we’ll be sharin’ on Colley Avenue, between Shirley & Gates Avenue in the Heart of Ghent, as we welcome all our neighbors to the party of the year, that has been a long standing tradition for the community. The event will include musical performances by The Newport News Police Pipes and Drums, Glasgow Kiss, and The Deloreans. In addition to live music, we will be selling various beverages and Belmont House of Smoke will be on hand selling food. All proceeds benefit Hope House Foundation a local non-profit organization providing independent living services to adults with developmental disabilities in Hampton Roads.
We encourage you to help us continue this annual St. Patty’s Day tradition and come out and enjoy the sounds and festivities and help us “paint Ghent green!” The celebration will continue into the “wee” hours of the night at Ghent’s popular restaurants and nightspots.
*** The 47th Annual Saint Patrick’s Day Parade, Ocean View, Norfolk. The Parade steps off at 10:00am on March 15, 2014 from Northside Middle School then up North Granby St to A View Ave. Hosted by the Father Robert B. Kealey Council # 3548 of the Knights of Columbus. This fun filled Irish parade has all the marching bands, clowns, floats, cars, and people necessary to make up an exciting and enjoyable parade. Everyone is Irish both in and along the parade route. Don’t miss the After Parade Party, presented by the Columbian Club of Ocean View starting at noon at the Knights of Columbus Lot featuring live bands: Hotcakes and The Holiday Band. Plenty of food and refreshments will be available as well.

- Trailered boats and other odd attractions will go down Queens Way between King and Wine Streets passing out beads and playing Barry White. Starts at 6pm, over by 6:20pm.
- St Patrick to Banish Snakes From Hampton 6:30 pm! St Patrick will banish the snakes from Hampton by throwing them in the Hampton River. and then start a pub crawl.
- Downtown Hampton Pub Crawl 4pm to 9pm. Seven great bars all in crawling distance will be having drink specials specifically for the pub crawlers. Create your own group or tag on to someone else’s group. Participating Bars: Latitude 37 (Crowne Plaza), Stillwater Tavern (across from Air & Space), Venture Kitchen & Bar, Goody’s, Conch & Bucket, Taphouse, and Marker 20.
