UPCOMING BEER FESTS AND FESTIVAL FORECAST:

Sat, Nov 30 - Field Dayz Fest 2019, 1 - 8:00 pm, Hosted by Precarious Beer Project, 110 S. Henry Street, Williamsburg. Precarious Beer Project hosts the 2nd Annual "Field Dayz Fest"! A day of craft beer, food, music, and field days antics all wrapped up in a  festival unlike any other! Field Dayz is a precarious throwback to the best day in middle school, Field Day! Located on the Lawns of the Colonial Williamsburg Art Museum, enjoy some amazing craft beer, bites, music and jovial antics, all to benefit the kids at CHKD! Field Dayz Fest will combine over 40 of our region’s best craft breweries, 5 restaurants, in addition to amazing live entertainment headlined by the pen-ultimate 90’s cover band, WOAH! No field day is complete without games like Tetherball, Four Square and a few other’s we will keep secret to add a little fun and competition throughout the day! The gates open at 12:45 pm for VIP Entrance and 2:00 pm for general admission. We have an absolutely killer line up for music for the day! Over 40 of our nation's best craft breweries will be pouring one-off, tasting room exclusives for the day’s festivities. Not a craft beer person? No worries, we got you! We will have a few other local artisan beverage producers pouring at the event. Field Dayz Fest wouldn’t be complete without a selection of incredible food! The food will be cheap, delicious and highly inspired! Come hungry as this isn’t your typical “Craft Beer Festival Grub”!


Sat, Dec 14 - Coelacanth 4th Anniversary Party, 12 - 10:00 pm, Coelacanth Brewing, 760 A W 22nd St., Norfolk. Holy Cow. We are turning 4! We'll be celebrating by bringing back a few sought after beers - as well as releasing a few special new limited beers. We will serve 1 sixtel of each of the following beers at specified times - until they are gone. Here's a SAMPLING of what you will be able to try: QUIET STORM - Award Winning Imperial Milk Stout, 2016 vintage,  2018 vintage; DEAD CALM - Irish Whiskey Barrel Aged Quiet Storm, 2017 vintage, 2018 vintage; MEGALODON - 15.5% Imperial Wheat Stout,  2019 vintage, plus NEW LIMITED "One-Off" Beers!


Sat, Dec 14 - 3rd Anniversary Throwdown, Hosted by Benchtop Brewing Company, 12 - 10:00 pm, 1129 Boissevain Ave., Norfolk. We have planned the biggest and best party we have ever thrown and we are ready to share the details: We will have a large heated tent in the parking lot for starters. In addition to our usual favorites, we will have 6 additions to our tap list: Theory Proven TIPA; Throwback Juicy DIPA; Intergalactic Gong Rip DIPA; Wicked Walter Imperial Stout; Old Wooden Ship Barleywine; Old Wooden Ship (vintage 18’)This year with all of our huge beer releases, we decided to focus on crispy lagers for guest taps. The actual beers will be added later: Resident Culture Brewing Company, Wooden Robot Brewery, Bond Brothers Beer Company, Precarious Beer Project, Billsburg Brewery. There may be a couple more to be named later. We have Hangry's and Aloha Snacks VB slingin grub. We have Brackish Water Jamboree bringing the tunes. We will have limited gold rimmed glasses that not only have our logo, but also a certain man in black. We are so excited about our coffee collaboration with @escrcoffee. As mentioned before, we are aging coffee in 20 yr cognac barrels. To top it off we are going to make nitro cold brew coffee to be served at our party with these beans AND we will be selling this barrel aged whole bean coffee in 1 lb bags with custom artwork!! We will continue to add details!


Sat, Dec 14 - 3rd Annual Over The River & Through The Woods Holiday Keg Share, 5 – 9:00 pm, The Virginia Beer Company, 401 Second Street, Williamsburg. The holidays are a time of year for traveling far & wide to spend to visit with your favorites. Accordingly, the Virginia Beer Co. team traverses over the river & through the woods across the Commonwealth to bring some of our favorites to 401 Second Street each holiday season. Join us on the evening of Saturday, December 14th as we host our third annual Holiday Keg Share. Visiting will be some of our Virginia brewing friends - specifically those who are not often able to make their way to Williamsburg. We'll have one-off selections from 10+ breweries from around the state including Crooked Run Brewing, Red Dragon Brewery, Solace Brewing Company, Rocket Frog Brewing Company, The Veil Brewing Co., and others. Guest tappings will occur every hour from 5-9 pm. Festive live music throughout the evening, with merriment of the meal-kind provided by Carmen's Jamaican Authentic Cuisine. What happens when you mix festive holiday brass music with beer from Hampton Roads best local breweries? The first-ever Holiday Brass and Brews! Thu, Jan 23 - A Night at the HOPera, 5:30 – 8:30 pm, Virginia Opera, 160 W Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk. The name may have changed, but the best beer event in Hampton Roads is back courtesy of the Virginia Opera! What was our hugely popular Tap into Virginia Opera event is now aptly called— “A Night at the Hopera!” In addition to our highly anticipated selection of unique brews, A Night at the Hopera also brings back the special spirits tasting you loved from last year! Your Hopera ticket still includes both beer and spirits tastings, delicious food by Supper Southern Morsels, and the chance to meet, greet, hear, and even join VO performers for a brew. Tickets are $25 in Advance and $30 at the door. Parking is $5 in the Harrison Opera House lot (Limited free street parking).


Fri-Sun, Jan 24-26 - Third Annual Coastal Virginia Bluegrass & Brew Festival, The American Theatre, 125 East Mellen Street, Hampton. Returning for its 3rd year, the Coastal Virginia Bluegrass and Brew Festival once again gathers some of the nation’s most extraordinary musical talent. In what has become one of the most anticipated events of the season, this jam-packed concert weekend also features Coastal Virginia’s award-winning craft beers and spirits — but this year there’s a twist! All three acts showcase the leading ladies of bluegrass, each making their unique mark in the music industry. You won’t want to miss these forces of nature display soaring vocals, fierce musicianship, and an unbridled passion for the rich history of American Roots music. Local Tidewater VA Beer Festivals



UPCOMING BEER FESTS AND FESTIVAL FORECAST:

Fri-Sun, Nov 8-10 - ChowderFest ~ NoktoberFest ~ 2nd Sunday's, Hosted by CultureFix VA, Downtown Williamsburg. We are thrilled to announce the return of ChowderFest to Williamsburg, Virginia on Friday, November 8th, 6.30-9.30pm.  This will be part of "A Wonderful Williamsburg Weekend" in partnership with American Evolution Customs Cultures & Cuisine Festival.  Going into its 8th year, this extremely popular culinary event draws over 600 guests annually.  This year we have live music by Strictly Bizzness. Saturday, November 9th, back by popular demand, Noktoberfest, this year from 5 - 9 pm. You may have been to one of the many Oktoberfest events but this is the real deal.  Come and experience an authentic Octoberfest event under a huge heated tent with endless pretzels and beer, served by beer maids and men in traditional lederhosen.  Specially brewed beer from our fabulous Williamsburg Breweries.  Prost Food truck will be serving Fabulous German fare for purchase, and long communal tables will make for a celebration to remember. Signature beer glass included. Fabulous Polka music with a twist performed by New York's Polka Brothers. Sunday, round out the weekend at the very popular Second Sunday's Art and Music Festival from 11 am - 5 pm. Free to all on Prince George and North Boundary streets. Presented by Business Consortium for Arts Support and Old Dominion University, this free festival welcomes everyone to experience the NEON District through art exhibitions, local and national performances, mural tours and programming unique to Norfolk's first arts neighborhood. Over 50 craft beers from over 25 breweries will be available for sampling at the Virginia Beach Craft Beer Festival. Tickets include unlimited sampling, a commemorative cup, and live entertainment. In a huge tent on the beach at 30th Street, our location is conveniently near parking at the municipal garage across the street. A limited number of tickets will be available each day. Chairs and pets are not allowed into the gated venue. This is a rain or shine event; refunds not available.

There will German food by the K of C, Big Ugly beers, and live polka music by The Dixie 7. There will be seating under a tent, but feel free to bring your own chairs also. Parking at Big Ugly is extremely limited, so we recommend you park either at Great Bridge Middle School or Great Bridge United Methodist Church on Battlefield Blvd. The K of C will be providing free shuttle service from those locations.

Signature beer glass included. Fabulous Polka music with a twist performed by New York's Polka Brothers. Sunday, round out the weekend at the very popular Second Sunday's Art and Music Festival from 11 am - 5 pm. Free to all on Prince George and North Boundary streets. Field Dayz Fest will combine over 40 of our region’s best craft breweries, 5 restaurants, in addition to amazing live entertainment headlined by the pen-ultimate 90’s cover band, WOAH! No field day is complete without games like Tetherball, Four Square and a few other’s we will keep secret to add a little fun and competition throughout the day! The gates open at 12:45 pm for VIP Entrance and 2:00 pm for general admission. We have an absolutely killer line up for music for the day! Over 40 of our nation's best craft breweries will be pouring one-off, tasting room exclusives for the day’s festivities. Not a craft beer person? No worries, we got you!
