Thu, May 24 - The 5th Annual Bacon, Beer and Bourbon Bash, presented by Rotary Club of Warwick at City Center Newport News, 7 - 9:30 pm, Virginia Living Museum, 524 J Clyde Morris Blvd., Newport News. Celebrating the love of bacon, The Rotary Club of Warwick at City Center Newport News will host its signature charity event featuring local restaurants serving up their best bacon-inspired dish! Guests will sample each dish throughout the evening and will have the opportunity to cast a vote for the People's Choice Award to be presented at the end of the evening. In addition, beer, wine and a variety of non-alcoholic beverages will be available throughout the evening. Fri-Sun, Jun 1-3 - Blackbeard Pirate Festival 2018, Downtown Hampton. The 300th anniversary of Blackbeard's last battle will be celebrated in style at this year's Hampton Blackbeard Pirate Festival beginning with the Pirates Grand Bash on Friday, June 1, 2018. The festivities will continue on Saturday and Sunday, June 2 & 3, 2018. Our goal is to have 300 pirate reenactors and fire 300 cannon shots during the event. There will be a sea battle on Saturday and a merchant vessel seizure by pirates along with small boat skirmishes on Sunday. And of course once again we will have the finest fireworks display on Saturday night of any event anywhere. We will again have one of the largest and most historically accurate living history 18th-century Maritime piratical encampments set up at Mill Point Park including some of the finest 18th-century vendors. www.hampton.gov/parks

Sat/Sun, Oct 20/21 - Virginia Beach Craft Beer Festival, 1 - 6:00 pm each day, 31st Street Park, Oceanfront, Virginia Beach. Over 50 craft beers from over 25 breweries will be available for sampling at the Virginia Beach Craft Beer Festival.  Tickets include unlimited sampling, a commemorative cup, and live entertainment.
