"a constant proof that God loves us, and loves to see us happy" - Benjamin Franklin

Local Brew Happenings:

O’CONNOR BREWING COMPANY, Taproom (521 W. 25th Street, Norfolk, VA 23517)
Taproom Hours: Wed-Fri 4:00pm - 7:00pm, Sat 12:00n - 7:00pm
Wednesday, April 9:  Sin & Vinyl Night - On Wednesday nights bring in your vinyl or just jam to the great tunes we got playing in the tap room.  It’s also SIN (Service Industry Night), so if you work in the restaurant, hospitality or service industry, you get 50% OFF EVERYTHING.
Thursday, April 10:  Comedy Night with George Booker & Friends - Every second Thursday of the month, we put a mic in front of George Booker (comic, writer, OBC dishwasher/barback, misanthrope) and his droll group of friends, enemies and other local comics. Hilarity ensues.  It’s also Thirsty Thursday, of course, so everything’s 30% off.  Drink beer, laugh your head off, repeat.
Friday, April 11:  Sea Level Singer Songwriter Festival - O’Connor Brewing Co. and Hunter At Sunrise are proud to present - Anthony Rosano, Acoustic Blues and O’Connor Brews.  Anthony Rosano is often known in his career with Anthony Rosano and The Conqueroos - His live performances flow from straight ahead Delta blues through 60′s Bay area jams into Crescent city second line funk.  The crossover appeal of the Conqueroos has led them to share the stage with a diverse range of blues artists.  Tonight join Anthony in an intimate setting that we often do not see him in ? a solo Acoustic Jam.  Onsite we will also have local food truck Wrap-N-Roll, serving up delicious, low fat and high quality wraps, salads, and soups.
The Sea Level Singer/Songwriter Festival is a multi-day celebration of live, original music and features concerts, workshops, showcases and much more. Now in its 7th year, it is the ONLY Singer/Songwriter Festival in the Mid-Atlantic region. The Festival is also the largest annual fundraiser for Tidewater Arts Outreach (TAO).
Saturday, April 12:  On Saturdays we open at noon. At 2pm and 3pm we host free 30-minute tours of the brewery, and from 4 to 7pm we have live music and food trucks to complement our fresh, tasty beers.  This week we welcome to the tasting room: Live music by Urban Hill (roots rock, boogie and blues), and Street food by Karnage Asada (Latin Asian fusion).

Wednesday, April 9:  Firkin this Wednesday - We will have a special cask-conditioned beer in the tasting room on Wednesday.  Rule G IPA with Mandarina Bavaria Hops!  Cask ale, or real ale as it is sometimes called, is beer which has not been filtered or pasteurized; it is alive!  The beer is transferred straight from the fermenter into the cask along with some priming sugar.  The yeast consumes the sugars to produce carbonation and complex flavors.  The cask we are using is called a firkin and holds 10.79 gallons of beer.  Hope to see you there!
