May 17-18: 13th Annual Virginia Beer Festival. Town Point Park, Norfolk, VA. This is one of the most popular Beer Festivals in the mid-Atlantic Region and promises to be a day full of good beer, good friends, and good fun. Spend the afternoon sampling beer from all over the world. International premium beers, hand crafted domestics and local brews comprise a selection of over 125 tap handles. The event features live music, great food and of course, great beer.

We are celebrating the return of our incredible summer seasonal, Spyhop White IPA, with a steal the pint-style event. In honor of its release, Spyhop will be served in our beautiful, printed tulip glass for the night-and you get to keep the glass! It’s also THIRSTY THURSDAY in the tasting room from 4 to 7pm. Friday, May 16 - American Craft Beer Week: SPECIAL CASK NIGHT. Food Truck Fridays. TGIF! What better way to start your weekend than with live music, street food and fresh, tasty beers! In honor of American Craft Beer Week, we are tapping a series of special casks made exclusively for our tasting room. Here are just a couple to whet your appetite: Salty Surprise - our Green Can Golden Ale, infused with Ancho chilies and sea salt; and Chocolate Vanilla Nun - our Red Nun Red Ale, infused with cocoa powder and vanilla extract. This week we welcome to the tasting room: Live music by ‘Matt & Tam’ (vintage country and folk), and delicious street food by ‘Wrap-N-Roll’ (wraps, sandwiches, salads and soups), and because it’s American Craft Beer Week, Wrap-N-Roll will be serving a special beer-centric menu.
Saturday, May 17 - American Craft Beer Week: SPECIAL HOURS & TOURS, Live Music: Frood / Food Truck: Karnage Asada. Because it’s American Craft Beer Week and there’s so much to pack in at our tasting room and all around town, we are opening up at 11am today, so you can get started early! Our special casks from Friday night will still be on tap, and we’ll continue to pour our just-released summer seasonal, Spyhop White IPA. Plus, our food truck, Karnage Asada, will be offering a beer-paired menu, as well as a special menu item using our beer as the featured ingredient in their recipe. Tours will take place every half hour from 11am to 2pm. They are $10/guest and include a 15-minute tour of our facility, as well as a tasting flight of all six of our signature beers plus one of our special brewery exclusive beers.

Wednesday, May 14 - Tasting Room, Firkin this Wednesday - We will have a special cask-conditioned beer in the tasting room. This week - Dream Day American Wheat with Citra Hops! Cask ale, or real ale as it is sometimes called, is beer which has not been filtered or pasteurized; it is alive! The beer is transferred straight from the fermenter into the cask along with some priming sugar. The yeast consumes the sugars to produce carbonation and complex flavors. The cask we are using is called a firkin and holds 10.79 gallons of beer. Hope to see you there!
