At the Museum, we’re Rock-in’ and Rockin’ Out as we host different local bands tonight, featuring Ladada, The Mirrors and Long Division. Expect a little of everything-from classic to grunge to punk-as both Huber Court and the Museum gardens are devoted to all things rock in honor of our exhibition Herb Ritts: The Rock Portraits. At the Perry Glass Studio, Nisha Bansil presents Visible Vibrations, an experiment in tonality, art, and science that translates soundwaves to glass. The musical accompaniment will be the intriguing mix of classical cellist Jacob Fowler and local busker Daniel Neale. This farmhouse ale traces its roots to the magical surf spot of Tamarindo, Costa Rica, where a vast swath of white sand and luminous blue waters are as warm and welcoming as the people who reside there. This beer was fermented in oak to dryness using our mixed culture of yeast, brettanomyces, and wild yeast/souring bacteria native to Coastal Virginia. It was then refermented with fresh, local strawberries from Cullipher Farm, lending the beer prominent fruit character and aroma. Reaver’s Bounty is 7.8% ABV, 8 IBUs. It will be available on draft and to go in 750ml bottles (*Bottle limit of 3 per person, per day).

Join us for a special Monday opening as we kick off VA Craft Beer Month and celebrate Jerry Garcia’s birthday with the release of our Hemp IPA. Apply named, Missing Digit, this beer is incredibly heady and full of fresh lime and pine aromas. Toasted hemp seeds are tossed into the mash giving this brew some backbone. Best enjoyed during a Sunshine Daydream be sure to wear your favorite tie-dye tee and come hang. We’ll have a tasty food truck on-premises and jam out to classic Dead tunes.
