Upcoming Brew/Beer Fests:

Sat, Sep 6 - Inaugural Virginia Craft Beer & Wine Festival, 12-5 pm, nTelos Wireless Pavilion, Downtown Portsmouth, VA. The festival will exclusively feature some of the finest selections of craft breweries and wineries, all hand-picked and selected from right here in Virginia. Tickets include unlimited sampling of craft beer and wine from Virginia breweries and wineries, along with a commemorative festival glass and live entertainment featuring Virginia natives Lewis McGehee and Major & The Monbacks. Participating local breweries will include O’Connor Brewing Co., Smartmouth Brewing Co., Back Bay Brewing Co., Young Veterans Brewing Co., St George Brewing Co., Larry’s Lemonade, Ale Works Brewing Co., Legend Brewing Co., Devils Backbone Brewing Co., Bold Rock Hard Cider, Starr Hill Brewing Co. and Sunken City Brewery, along with a selection of premier wineries from across the state. Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the gate, as available. Tickets are on sale now at all Ticketmaster locations, or purchase online at www.ticketmaster.com. Tue, Aug 19 - Movie Night: “Beer Wars”, a 2009 documentary film about the American beer industry, 5-7 pm. Every Tuesday in August (which, if you didn’t know, is Virginia Craft Beer Month!), we will be screening one of our favorite beer-themed films on our movie theater-size projection screen. This week’s Tuesday night movie is Beerfest, a 2006 film by the comedy group Broken Lizard. Synopsis: Two brothers travel to Germany for Oktoberfest, only to stumble upon a secret, centuries-old competition described as a “Fight Club” with beer games.

Fri, Aug 22 - Virginia Craft Beer Month Pintathlon and Food Truck Friday. Every Friday in August, we will offer two or more special pins created by our brewers especially for this month-long endurance event, which we have dubbed the Pintathlon. Pintathletes-guests who have drank from each pin over the course of the month-will be awarded at the OBC Brewers Battle Royale at the end of the month. It’s also TGIF! What better way to start your weekend than with live music by ‘Mojo Collins’ (Blues), and street food from ‘Bobby Q Filipino Grill’, paired with our fresh, tasty beers!

Sat, Aug 23 - On Saturdays now we’re open from noon to nine, and we have live music and food trucks to complement our fresh, tasty beers! This week Join us as we celebrate the re-release of ‘Bells Beach’, our Aussie-inspired Galaxy Saison. We also welcome ‘Glasgow Kiss’ (Celtic) from 5-8 pm, and tasty food from ‘Pizza Bella Vista’ (authentic Neapolitan pizza) from 3-8 pm.
