Oct 18/19 - 6th Virginia Beach Craft Beer Fest, 30th Street, Oceanfront, Virginia Beach. Over 80 craft beers from over 50 breweries will be available for sampling at the Virginia Beach Craft Beer Festival. Tickets include sampling, a commemorative cup, and live entertainment. Tickets for the Virginia Beach Craft Beer Festival are $25 in advance and $30 at the door for Saturday, October 18, and $20 in advance and $25 at the door for Sunday, September 19. Live music sets the stage at the perfect outdoor setting for tasting some of the best craft beers. Performances include Blue Ribbon Band and Will Overman Band (Saturday), and Seth Stainback & Rooster Foot and Major & the Monbacks (Sunday).

Oct 24 - Inaugural “Fall Beer Fest” by The Sertoma Club of Norfolk, at O’Connor Brewing Co., 6:00 - 10:00 pm, 24st, Norfolk. This event supports local charities and organizations throughout Hampton Roads! Tickets are limited and include the free flowing of O’Connor Brewery’s best craft beers! Oct 25 - 2014 Backyard Sports Club Battle of the Beers, hosted by Beach Ambassadors at Tapped Gastropub, 1 - 6:00 pm, Hilltop East, Laskin Rd, Virginia Beach. This event is ONE OF A KIND. It is the only craft beer event that pits ONLY Hampton Roads-based breweries against each other to see who has the best brews! Ticket holders will be treated to an afternoon of the best Hampton Roads craft breweries, as they compete in two categories, best IPA and best Seasonal. Everyone will vote on each category while sampling all beers and enjoying delicious food provided by Tapped Gastropub! Live music from Gridlock 64, cornhole games, raffle prizes, and professional photography will also be on tap for everyone!! Oh yeah, the best thing about it this event, IT’S ALL FOR CHARITY!!! Seventy Five percent of the proceeds will go directly to St. Mary’s Home in Norfolk. The other twenty five percent will go to the charities of the winning brewers. Let’s see if the other breweries can unseat last year’s champion Young Veterans Brewing Company!!

Oct 25 - Beach Brewing Company’s 4th Anniversary BASH! 12:00 pm - 9:00 pm, Taylor Farm Rd, Virginia Beach. There will be NEW RELEASES, including our 4th Anniversary beer - ‘Harbinger’ Bourbon Barrel Aged American Strong Ale! You can expect other barrel aged beers to be tapped as well, along with other newly minted brews. Oct 25/26 - 1st Annual Ghentoberfest in the heart of the beautiful historic Ghent district, 2 - 6:00 pm, Norfolk. A Craft Beer Festival featuring 30 Craft Breweries with over 75 different Craft Beers. Come enjoy an afternoon of good music by local musicians, good food from local food trucks, and (of course) good beer from local breweries. Storm Forge Brewing Company is the dream of a couple of advanced homebrewers who desire to take their experience to the next level and open a Craft Brewery.

As our funding campaign ends, we are struggling with the realization that our goal of $30K was not achieved. In hindsight, it was a pretty lofty goal, but without a goal what is there to strive for? Perhaps many of you have tried fundraising for various reasons and understand it is not an easy task. We were continually amazed who donated/contributed and who didn’t. It is completely unpredictable. We wish to extend a sincere thank you to those that did contribute and thanks for believing in us. For those who didn’t contribute but are liking our page and posts on Facebook and following us on Twitter, thanks for your interest and support. Not achieving our goal in the Indiegogo campaign does not deter us but only strengthens our resolve to keep striving towards our goal of opening a craft brewery in the Hampton Roads area. For us, it’s about community involvement and collaboration and we can’t do it without you.

THE BOLD MARINER BREWING COMPANY, a Craft Microbrewery opening soon in Norfolk
Veteran owned and operated, The Bold Mariner will provide traditional styles of quality craft beer to the area. We will create a sense of pride in our product that embodies our community and company. We will initially produce three flagship beers. These beers will be offered year round along with a rotation of seasonal and special run recipes. Our line of beers will be available for purchase in our on premises tap room as well as in local area restaurants. Once open we will start brewing on a 15bbl brew house, initially we will produce only draft which will be available in our tap room and at local bars and restaurants.

The Taphouse Grill is our casual outdoor bar and grill that celebrates a more contemporary Virginia than our historic neighbors across Duke of Gloucester Street.
