Beer Release/Tapping, Beach Brewing, 12 - 9:00 pm, Virginia Beach. We're excited to announce the release of a new wild beer: The Lunatic - a Biere de Garde style ale, re-fermented with blackberries in oak barrels with Brettanomyces and wild yeast/bacteria native to Coastal Virginia. Additionally, we will tap another new beer: ARMADA - a Quadrupel IPA aged in bourbon whiskey barrels. Armada was fermented in stainless steel, then racked into bourbon barrels for aging. After being racked out of barrels, we dry-hopped it at the irresponsible rate of 5 pounds per barrel.

Tidewater Piper, our Scottish IPA, will be released to the skirl of LIVE BAGPIPES!! Four Highland bagpipers in full kilt & regalia will play a 15-minute set in our tasting room to celebrate the opening of the tap on our latest brew, Tidewater Piper, a Scottish IPA. Why, you ask? Because IPAs are awesome and bagpipes are awesome - together, they are super awesome! Tidewater Piper IPA is made with 100% British malt, brash American hops, and smooth, sweet Edinburgh Ale Yeast. Drew and Gavin (one of the pipers) came up with the concept, tried out the test batch, found it quite good and decided the official release merits a little celebration. So, come join us for authentic bagpipe music, delicious beer and great company. See you there!

Every year The Birch hosts our annual St. Kiuchi Day in memory of the Tsunami victims and we continue to raise money that will be donated to Tsunami Relief efforts that are still going on. Sun, Mar 15 - 48th Annual Saint Patrick's Day Parade, 10:00 am, Ocean View, Norfolk. Hosted by the Father Robert B. Kealey Council # 3548 of the Knights of Columbus. This fun filled Irish parade has all the marching bands, clowns, floats, cars, and people necessary to make up an exciting and enjoyable parade. Everyone is Irish both in and along the parade route. After the parade come and join us at the Knights of Columbus grounds for live music, food, and fun. There will be a variety of food vendors and live music. This year's bands will be: The Embers (outside) and Tidewater Drive (inside the Hall). The party is held immediately following the parade and is hosted by The Columbian Club of Ocean View. 211 W. Established in 2006 and located in the heart of the early colonies in Williamsburg, Virginia, we have rolled out a broad range of beer offerings and quickly established a reputation for fine beer. We operate a direct fired brick-clad Peter Austin brew house and ferment all our beers in state-of-the-art conical fermenters.
The Alewerks Taproom features 17 beers on tap including a firkin (cask ale). Located around the corner from the Williamsburg Outlet Malls, the taproom is the perfect place to experience great local beers and friendly service. Tours are offered daily (except Sundays) where guests can learn about the history of beer, see the brewery and how beer is made and taste some fresh local beer.

Langrage Line: Apple Scot, A variation of our popular Angry Scot Scottish Ale. This version has less alcohol and less body, making it more sessionable, and we added apple juice before fermentation to create a cider-like impression on top of the malty profile of the Scot. This beer pairs well with brisk Fall weather.
