Every year The Birch hosts our annual St. Kiuchi Day in memory of the Tsunami victims and we continue to raise money that will be donated to Tsunami Relief efforts that are still going on. St. Kiuchi Day will include 5-6 Kiuchi Hitachino Taps! We will have 2009 Commemorative Magnums (FOR THE FIFTH YEAR IN A ROW) that we will pour by the glass. Flights of beer from their bottles!

Sun, Mar 15 - 48th Annual Saint Patrick’s Day Parade, 10:00 am, Ocean View, Norfolk. Hosted by the Father Robert B. Kealey Council # 3548 of the Knights of Columbus. This fun filled Irish parade has all the marching bands, clowns, floats, cars, and people necessary to make up an exciting and enjoyable parade. Everyone is Irish both in and along the parade route. After the parade come and join us at the Knights of Columbus grounds for live music, food, and fun. There will be a variety of food vendors and live music. This year’s bands will be:  The Embers (outside) and Tidewater Drive (inside the Hall). The party is held immediately following the parade and is hosted by The Columbian Club of Ocean View.  211 W. Government Ave, Norfolk, VA.  This event is open to the public (21 and up).

Sat, May 2 - Town Center Craft Beer Festival, 1 - 6:00 pm, Town Center, Market St, Virginia Beach. Over 50 craft beers from over 25 breweries will be available for sampling at the Virginia Beach Craft Beer Festival. Tickets include sampling and live entertainment.

Sat/Sun, May 16/17 - 14th Annual Virginia Beer Festival, Town Point Park, 2 - 6:00 pm, Waterfront, Norfolk. This is one of the most popular Beer Festivals in the mid-Atlantic Region and promises to be a day full of good beer, good friends, and good fun.  Spend the afternoon sampling beer from all over the world.  International premium beers, hand crafted domestics and local brews comprise a selection of over 125 tap handles.  The event features live music, great foot and, of course, great beer.

Our first Dry Irish Stout, just in time for St. Patrick’s Day.  This authentic beer was made with malts that were imported from Ireland through the Malting Company of Ireland.  It contains 100% Irish Malt, an Irish yeast strain, and UK Pilgrim Hops, 4.1% ABV, 40 IBU.

Established in 2006 and located in the heart of the early colonies in Williamsburg, Virginia, we have rolled out a broad range of beer offerings and quickly established a reputation for fine beer. We operate a direct fired brick-clad Peter Austin brew house and ferment all our beers in state-of-the-art conical fermenters.
