Bottle Release, Reaver Beach Brewing Co., 12 - 9:00 pm, 1505 Taylor Farm Rd., Virginia Beach. After a 14 month hiatus, we’re pleased to announce the return of a favorite: WITHIN THE FLOOD MARKS (Blend #2) - a sour blonde ale refermented with blueberries in Sherry Casks. This beer was fermented to dryness with our mixed culture containing wild yeast and souring bacteria native to Coastal Virginia, then refermented in freshly dumped Sherry Casks with blueberries. The result is a massively fruit-forward beer, with prominent oak and Sherry character, wrapped up in a deep purple color. The beer takes its name from the practice of executing those convicted of piracy by hanging, which customarily took place in the flood zone at low tide. This tradition, while not always put into practice, stemmed from the British Admiralty’s stake of jurisdiction and dominance over anything occurring at sea. It will be available on draft and to go in 750ml bottles, with no bottle limit.
