We have taken what we learned making Natural Juicy and applied it to our flagship IPA. This is also our trial run of new method called double whirlpool hopping. This basically means we reduced the IBU just slightly and increased the juice factor significantly. We also modified the dry hopping regiment. Don’t sleep on this one. - O'Connor’s Heavy Footer Double IPA Re-Release, 1608 Crafthouse, 5 - 10:00 pm, 1608 Pleasure House Rd., Virginia Beach. The folks at O'Connor Brewing Co. have been very generous and they are allowing us to host the 2017 Heavy Footer release party here at 1608 (3 days BEFORE they release it at the brewery)! Heavy Footer Double IPA features a heavy malt backbone which is balanced by an outrageous hop profile. Dry hopped not once, but twice, this DIPA exudes flavors and aromas of tropical fruits and citrus. Winner of a silver medal at the 2016 Commonwealth Cup; winner of a silver medal at the 2015 Virginia Craft Brewers Cup; winner of a silver medal at the 2015 Tastings World Beer Championship. Kegs will be tapped at 5 pm.

The barely creations of Virginia’s Copper Fox Distillery will follow: Wasmund’s Single Malt Whisky, made of 100% hand-malted Virginia barley, smoked with hand-cut apple and cherry wood; Wasmund’s “Blue Top” Single Malt Whisky, finished in Port-style wine barrels from Virginia wineries; and, for those of you that just can’t give it up, Copper Fox Rye Whisky, a starts-spicy-but-ends-sweet balanced rye whisky. The tasting will finish with the wonderfully appropriate Alewerks “Cafe Royale,” a rich, slightly sweet coffee stout aged in barrels from A. Smith Bowman. The 50th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade is a fun filled Irish parade with all the marching bands, clowns, floats, cars, and people necessary to make up an exciting and enjoyable parade. Everyone is Irish both in and along the parade route. The parade is presented by Norfolk Parade, Inc. After the parade come and join us at the Columbian Club of Ocean View grounds for live music, food, and fun. There will be a variety of food vendors and live music.
