Bottle Release, Reaver Beach Brewing Co., 12 - 9:00 pm, 1505 Taylor Farm Rd., Virginia Beach. Presenting a brand new addition to our wild beer family: SOUL OF STONE. This is our second ever Amphora beer, which is created using our 500 gallon stone fermenter. Much in the same way an oak vessel adds wood and vanilla notes, the Amphora lends character to the beer it otherwise would not have: a soft minerality that blends seamlessly with the sour brown base. After a lengthy fermentation, this beer was then racked into freshly dumped Brandy barrels and allowed to referment with fresh plums. The result is a bright menagerie of flavors, including grape and stone fruit, with a soft mouthfeel backed up by bracing acidity. Soul of Stone is 8.4% ABV and 8 IBU. It will be available on draft and to go in 750ml bottles.

Each year we release a collaboration with our very own mug club, The Canteen Command! Follow us on social media to find out when we open the Enlistment Period for the Canteen Command! Only the most frequent visiting Canteen Command Members get to be involved in the collaboration. So join our group and come in often!

Pull the Pin 2017, Tapped Crafthouse, 12 - 7:00 pm, 2181 Upton Drive Suite 400, Virginia Beach. We will be tapping multiple FIRKIN kegs all at once. Live music, games and prizes included! What is a FIRKIN keg? “A firkin is a unit of measure and also the size of a particular kind of keg used for cask conditioning; one quarter of a barrel, 72 pints, 9 imperial gallons. Firkins can be wooden or metal. The most curious thing about them is the manner in which they are tapped. In order to keep air out, the keg is laid on its side and the spout is driven in horizontally. It can get a bit messy if not done correctly. A breathing tube is inserted in the bung which is now on top to enhance the flow of beer using only gravity. CO2 is not used to carbonate or push the beer out. Thus you get a naturally fermented and carbonated beer in a small batch. Many think beer tastes much better this way.” ~~Hoppy Trails~~
